God called David a man after His own heart not only because he seemed to praise HIM more than any man but because according to the records of Kings, he subscribed to the leading of the LORD while he was learning what God has for him and to His rulership when he eventually became the ruler of Israel.
David’s leadership quality did not start when he was king or when he had followers. It had begun when he was nobody. But wherever he found himself and whatever he found himself doing, he could see himself manifesting the characteristics of CHRIST. It was his genuine leadership quality (the way he led his life) that gave him the inspiration for the song he composed (Psalm 23).
He could see himself as one of the sheep he was rearing and also see himself representing God before his father’s sheep. These views and observations are enough to make David a case study of the subject of leadership and rulership even in these contemporary times. Even God made him the standard for other kings after him until JESUS came to institute perfection.
Is the journey of leadership a journey from nothing to something?? Let us find out together . . .
