Daniel 3: 28-30
In the end, GOD’s declaration would not even be from our mouth but from that of those were out to destroy us. GOD is taking us to that point where we only answer to HIM even though we would not trespass against the Laws of GOD and men.
There comes a time when heads of government would be the one to declare the sovereignty of GOD. Nebuchadnezzar, the ruler of the world posed as the adversary to the three Hebrews but GOD in His greatness set a table for them before him and all he could do with all his power was to proclaim the greatness of the LORD of those he opposed. The glory of GOD thrives more in persecution.
When tribulation works out perseverance; and perseverance works out character, the hope that never disappoints is as a result of the character of CHRIST we have cultivated through this process. Even though the situation seems hopeless, the hope that our character of CHRIST worked out can never disappoint us. This is because CHRIST in us is the hope of Glory . . . i.e. it is the character of CHRIST in us that makes us hope for HIM even till the end.
Daniel 3: 19-27.
Evidently, all that has been happening can be best described as war. This war had been brewing within since the day we started this journey in the wilderness but one day it would evidently manifest and our abject refusal would always spark rage and persecution. But as the war rages, we must know that it is never our fight but GOD’s fight. Our responsibility is to worship GOD with all that we are and all we have! When the war finally comes, GOD will surely fight His battle. GOD has been our reason for everything and even when everything is against us, the same GOD would be our reason for victory and HE will take the Glory!
Daniel 3: 4-12
Deep down in Nebuchadnezzar’s heart, he must have known by the reason of the interpretation of his dream that his government could not last forever. It was not a surprise that he made the golden image to try and solidify his reign as opposed to what GOD proposed. The revelation of GOD comes with solution. But because this solution means nothing less than destruction of all that Babylon represents, those who embody this revelation must face persecution and trials that would test their faith.
And because of Babylon’s knowledge of the revelation related to her, she would want to keep herself safe and would always want the LORD’s people to abide by these safety measures. She always proposes in her heart that as long as everyone accepts her reign and rulership, everything will be alright but little did she know that even the approval of men (even of GOD) cannot stop what GOD had already purposed in His heart. Worship of Babylon starts from endorsing what is not GOD’s and it gradually moves to buying into her agenda.
This is another test of faith and absolute allegiance to GOD come what may. We must not allow Babylon to drag us into what is majorly directed towards defying GOD. Our acceptance of the works of those who are not friend with GOD is no different than bowing down before the statute of Nebuchadnezzar. Accepting such works means that we accept the personalities of those who are at the helm of decision regardless of their sheer unGODliness.
We must know the heart of GOD concerning Babylon and even as we know, we must not buy into Babylon’s measure to avert the judgments that are already pronounced. Humanistic approach is not GOD’s approach!
